Here is a draft of a new paper analysing the different roles of the many visual representations found in 1945 City of Manchester Plan. It is co-written with my colleague Chris Perkins and has been submitted for a theme issue on Manchester in the Bulletin of the John Rylands Library. The 1945 Plan is an impressive feat of urban planning and now a fascinating historical document when read with over 60 years of hindsight to see how much Manchester has changed. At some point when I find some spare time I want to put a scan of the full Plan as a resource on www.mappingmanchester.org.

I like the term 'futurity' used in the paper's title, although my co-author Chris thinks its far too pretentious .....
